Friday 8th May - Primary 7

Good morning Primary 7 – end of the week already – time is flying past at the momentThis is a special day, the 75th anniversary of VE day – hopefully you have learned about it and understand the importance of this. There will be a 2 minute silence at 11am if you would like totake some time to remember. Our Teams meeting is at 11:30 for everyone – we will be attempting to do a general knowledge quiz – fingers crossed the technology will work for me!

Here are a range of activities today for you to choose from.

Maths – Hopefully you did week 10 last week of Beat That – how did you get on? I’ve uploaded all the week 1 levels for you – select the one which challenges you the most and go for it. Are you keeping track of your scores? Also attached is the Number Talks for today .Remember you don’t need to print these sheets out, just do the answers in your jotter or on paper. Also BIG NEWS – Sumdog National Competition starts today !!! PLease go onto Sumdog and play – remember there are only 1000 questions so you have to make sure you focus on accuracy over speed!

Free writing Friday – take the opportunity to finish your creative story from yesterday or to do any other kind of writing – a tribute to WW2 veterans on VE Day might be nice or a poem or comic strip.

Watch Newsround today and do the quiz – how much have you remembered this week?

HWB – Have a look at Didbook – have you updated it all – use the enrichment diary to comment on how you feel home learning is going for you or if you have any achievements to share. Could you add something to your Wellbeing wheel from this week? Also chose another activity from the HWB grid if you are keen to keep busy.

Art – Finally if you are feeling creative why not have a go at making a picture to commemorate VE Day. If you have paper and pencils and pens this should be straightforward. I’ve had a go with Sarah so you can see how it works! This is a layered picture so you should probably plan it first! Remember you can’t make mistakes in art !

Week 5 – Art Instructions for VE day picture

I would love to see any examples – here’s ours! Can you guess which one is mine and which is Sarah’s?
