What would YOU do if the whole world just stopped? Comedian, writer, actor and author Danny Wallace shares his wonderful debut children’s book Hamish and the Worldstoppers with Authors Live. Did you know that the raven and clock illustrations at the bottom of each page in Hamish and the World Stoppers make a flip-book animation! Making a flip-book animation is very simple. You can use a pack of post-it notes and some pens, or cut up white paper to make your own booklet. There are lots of videos online  demonstrating how to make a simple animation, such as a stick man waving or a bouncing ball. Once you have got the hang of making flip-books you could have a go at animating your own character or scene like we see in Hamish and the World Stoppers!

HWB – Week 3 – Keep Learning – this week is all about learning new skills, new experiences – what could you do today that is new? Is there a new game or a new skill that you could learn? Make a list using the alphabet – can you find something for each letter of the alphabet & do as many as you can over the next week? Here’s an example

A- act out your favourite part of Toy Story

B – balancing a ball on your head for 10 seconds while singing “we will rock you” by Queen

C – clap out the rhythm of your favourite song

D – draw a 3D cube that looks real

E – exercise every day for the next 7 days

F – fling a pair of socks into a bucket 20 times in a minute

G – Growth mindset – have a go at something you find difficult – you can’t do it YET

H – Happy thoughts – make a conscious decision to think happy thoughts every day – write them on a piece of paper
