Thursday Fun!

Good afternoon Primary 1!

This afternoon you will have a chance to watch videos of me and Miss Muir reading you a story called Oliver’s Vegetables. I hope you enjoy the story and are able to do some planting afterwards with Miss Muir!

I thought we could see what other fun we could have with vegetables!

We love to sing in Primary 1 so maybe you could sing along with the Singing Walrus in this vegetables song!

Why don’t you challenge yourself to complete a Fruit and Vegetable alphabet challenge? Can you come up with a fruit or vegetable that begins with each letter of the alphabet? Maybe you could have a competition with people at home to see who can think of the most! Some letters are much trickier than others…

Lots of you have made lovely scribble bugs for Mrs Piper’s art challenge this week. Maybe you could make some scribble vegetables! Why don’t you try to make each of the vegetables that Oliver tried at his Grandpa’s? Could you make your own favourite vegetable?

Can you measure the different vegetables you have in your home? Look at the markings on your ruler and try to estimate which number you think the vegetable will reach when you measure it. How accurate were your estimations?

Can you use vegetables to create a picture? Here are some examples that might inspire you.

Remember to wash your hands before handling food!

Enjoy your day Primary 1 and try to make some time to get out in the sunshine! Remember to keep yourselves safe in the sun.
