Gruffalo Fun!

Good afternoon, Primary 1!

If you have accessed your Learning Journals today you will have seen we have sent you some Gruffalo STEM activities to try out. The Gruffalo is one of our favourite stories and there are lots of fun things we can do related to it so I thought I would share some more here. If you enjoy your STEM fun and want to do some more learning with the Gruffalo then here are some challenges for you!

Can you write a description of one of the characters from the story using our describing bubbles? Remember there are seven describing bubbles: number, size, shape, texture, position, colour and doing. You don’t have to use them all as they might not all be appropriate for the character you have chosen. How many can you use?

Introducing Emotion Works (featuring child, i feel good, mr jelly)

Can you use our Emotion Works cogs to tell how the mouse might be feeling at different parts of the story? How might his feelings change throughout the story? What different triggers are there for the mouse?

How well do you think you know the story of the Gruffalo? Take part in this quiz to find out! https://wordwall.net/resource/56826/gruffalo-quiz

There are lots of different animals in this story. Can you practise moving like each one? Try to see if someone at home can guess which animal you are being just by watching your movements!
