Morning Activities
Good Morning Everyone! We hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for another great week!
What better way to start the week than with a GoNoodle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwn4beja1QE
Literacy: Watch the film
Questions: Where did the Robot come from? Why is it alone in the woods? What does the factory look like inside?
Inference Questions: How can we tell he is lonely? Does he feel at home in the woods? Why does he decide to go back into the woods?
Activities:
1)Write an alternative ending. Instead, the robot decides to go into the factory or gets spotted by the guards as he walks off.. OR! Use description to alter the setting, for example, he could go into the factory and it could be an amazing place like Willy Wonka’s factory!
2)Create a friend for the robot. Draw or describe the friend, please give them a personality – are they brave?
3)Write a diary entry for the robot focusing on the events in the film.
Numeracy: ‘Clapping Times’
This activity combines Music and your knowledge of Numbers.(If you don’t have a partner, you could write down the numbers instead and practice so you are ready to prove your thinking when your partner is ready to join in.) There is a follow up activity so if you are ready for a challenge. ‘Music to My Ears’ is at the bottom of the page. https://nrich.maths.org/5482
Please remember Sumdog is a great way to practice your mental agility, little and often is a fab way to use Sumdog. You may get coins as a reward from your teacher! Also, we love to read in Primary 3 so take some time between activities to listen to an online story or read a book. We would like to know what you are reading at the moment, send your recommendations to us!
Have a great morning everyone,
Miss Sandy & Miss Cowan
