Good  Morning Primary 5/4. Here is to day 3 at our alternative camp. Have a great day!

Activity 1: Scavenger Hunt If you can, go for a walk in your local area and try to complete the scavenger hunt. Spend time looking for the items on the list and take photos when you find them. Let’s see who can find the most! You could even download the iNaturalist app which lets you identify the plants, trees and creatures you encounter!

Activity 2: Get Creative. There are lots of interesting items you can make using natural materials as well as things you find around the house. Make a kite! Kites can be made from items such as: plastic bags, paper, baking parchment, sticks, string and ribbon. There are LOADS of videos and tutorials online that show you how it can be done. See if you can have a go at making one and don’t forget to test it out!

Activity 3: Build a den for an animal. In the woods or your garden, can you make a home for a woodland creature of your choice? (mouse, rabbit, bird…)

Use natural materials you can find and some string. Can you make it waterproof? Can you add any furniture?

Daily challenge: Star gazing. If it’s a clear night, go outside and look up at the sky. See if you can spot any constellations, planets or satellites. You can download the app Sky View and use it to help you find anything interesting in the sky. Even if it’s cloudy the app will still show you what’s hidden behind the clouds! You could even take some blankets and hot chocolate outside and spend time looking for shooting stars!
