Good Morning to our new Primary 7 Class!

Welcome everyone – I hope you are all ready to start the new school year with as much enthusiasm and excitement as me – I can’t wait to check in with you at 10 o’clock today on Teams then see you properly tomorrow in school.

Here are a few activities for you to try today.

Here is a quick warm up – We all know our own homes inside out and exactly where each item lives and looks best. If you’re anything like me you actually get a bit irritated if something gets misplaced around your home! Why not put that eagle eye to the test and see if you can spot the difference between these two living rooms? There are 10 differences to be found, why not try finding them all in less than 30 seconds? Go!

Literacy –

Listening & Talking –  So we can get to know each other properly I would like you to write down 10 facts about yourself that you would like to share with the class and me. I can’t wait to find out more about you. I will also be doing this – can I surprise you?

Writing – The news has been so important to us over the last few months – headlines grab our attention and make us want to read more. What would the headlines be for your life over the last 4 months? Choose your favourite 3 and we’ll play a game using them tomorrow! Here is one of mine as an example

Who Knew How Difficult It Is To Match Socks!!”

Reading – It’s important to get back into good reading habits as we return to school – revisit a favourite book or start a new one today – make time to

Numeracy   Numbers are all around us – take a look at what you can do with today’s number of the day – 15

HWB   Our School Values have never been more important than now when we return to school after such a long break. What does Kindness Perseverance & Success mean to you? Can you think of an example when you have been kind, persevered or had success in school? I know it seems like a long time ago but it doesn’t need to be in Primary 6 – it could also be any time at school. Draw or write (or do both) a brief description of your memory in each box.
