Afternoon Activities

Good Afternoon Everyone! Hope you are enjoying the sunshine on Earth Day. Miss Muir has posted on the Blog activities you can do to celebrate the 50th Anniversary so please have look! Here are your activities for this afternoon.

Health & Wellbeing: Term focus – Active and Healthy.

We know keeping active is important for our bodies to be healthy. During this time at home it’s important to be as active as possible whilst staying safe. (There are no excuses – Tom Moore is a great example of this. Ask your adult to tell you about his achievement.)
Challenge: Keep a record of how much time you spend every day being active for the next week.

A healthy person not only looks after their physical health by exercising but also by the food they eat to fuel their body.
Challenge: With an adult, look at the Eatwell Guide and then talk about the different food it suggests you eat. Draw a healthy balanced meal showing the different groups in your jotter.

Drama: Mime

Mime is the art of showing a character or telling a story using body movements, facial expressions and gestures without words.

Using mime pretend to be:

1) a weather presenter.
2) someone who has just scored a goal!
3) a conductor of an orchestra.
4) someone who is a taking a strong dog for a walk.
5) Create your own mime and get a family member to guess what it is. You’ll know you have mastered the art of miming if they guess successfully! Have Fun!
