Good morning Primary 4 and welcome to another Friday. We are starting with number talks. Mild – 15 + 14 =, Spicy – 45 + 34 =, Hot – 150 + 140 =, Extra Hot – 455 + 344 =. Remember to write down as many strategies as you can to find the answer.
fter number talks it’s Free Writing Friday! What will your story be about today? Are you continuing on from last week with another chapter or are you beginning something new? Think about the words you are using, try to uplevel them. I miss seeing some of the fantastic illustrations and hearing you reading your stories. If you can post your story that would be great. If not, just write it in your jotter and I will see it when we get back to school.
After Free Writing, it is reflections time. As usual, try to reflect on what you have been learning in literacy, numeracy and one other subject this week. Think about number talks and measuring in maths. Writing, reading and cloze passage for literacy. IDL, genius hour, music, art and P.E. for anything else. The 4th box this week is based on the 4 capacities. How have you been a successful learner this week. Remember you can also add in other things you have been doing at home.
Finish off this morning as we usually do on a Friday morning by playing maths games. If you can persuade your family to join in, why not play buzz or killer 12. If not, play some sumdog games, remember there is a new sumdog challenge.
