Amazing Activities for the letter A!
Good afternoon Primary 1!
If you log on to your Learning Journals this afternoon you will see that Miss Muir and I have issued you a handwriting challenge! We want to see if you can continue practising perfect presentation at home and we have started with the letter a.
If you would like to do some more work with the letter a after you have done some work on forming the letter then here are some ideas for you.
- Have a hunt around your house for things that begin with the letter a! How many can you find?
- Read a story with someone at home and see if you can point to all the letter ‘a’s on each page. It is a very commonly used letter so I am sure there will be lots!
- The word ‘address’ starts with the letter a – do you know your home address? See if you can learn it! It is a very important thing to know.
- A is for Animals. Can you describe an animal to someone at home without saying the name of the animal and see if they can guess what you are thinking of? I’ll start you off… My animal is white and fluffy and says ‘baa’. What animal is it?
Have fun and if there are any other ‘a’ activities that you can think of let us know so we can share with the rest of Primary 1!
Have a lovely afternoon,
Miss Calder and Miss Muir
