Afternoon activities
Hello Primary 3!
I hope your day is going well, it has been nice hearing from a few of you and seeing what you have been getting up to. Keep up the great work – we are so proud of your efforts at home!
Today I would like to direct you to the Minibeast activities from the grid we gave you yesterday – hopefully you managed to have a look at it. Choose one activity to complete this afternoon.
Maths
Symmetry is when an object looks the exact same on one side as the other.
Find images of symmetrical Minibeasts. Draw/print some images and with a black line mark the lines of symmetry (the imaginary line that passes through the centre of the shape or object and divides it into identical halves). Here are some pictures to get you started:
Hint: If you have a mirror in the house this can help you to make your picture perfectly symmetrical. Hold it over the line of symmetry to see what it would look like on the opposite side.
Hint: You could also paint half of your insect and fold it along the line of symmetry – what happens?
Have a great day!
