Friday Activities

Good Morning All!

It’s Friday but today is a rather special day! Do you know why?

It’s the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. VE Day celebrates Victory in Europe Day. This is the day Germany officially surrendered, marking the end of the Second World War. VE Day takes places on the 8th May, commemorating the same day back in 1945. It was a time of great celebrations after six long years of war.

There are many ways you could celebrate this special day: Create a piece of artwork using the colours: red, white and blue… Design a piece of bunting and hang it in your home…Or possibly you would like to design a medal to remember the brave soldiers.

It wouldn’t be a Friday without Free Writing though! We look forward to receiving your texts each week.  Today we have a sentence starter for you: Two simple words, but such a powerful message…

We think this links nicely to the  ‘Clap for our NHS and Key Workers’ last night.

Don’t forget the Sumdog competition starts today. We need everyone to participate to get onto the leaderboard – Let’s do it Primary 3!

Have a lovely day everyone,

Miss Sandy & Miss Cowan
