Thinking about TH

Good afternoon Primary 1

Have you logged on to your Learning Journals  yet this afternoon to see the videos Miss Muir and I posted teaching you all about the th sound? Make sure to have a go at reading and writing the th words in the spelling quiz!

If you are still thinking about th you might want to do some more learning about this sound! Here are some ideas if you are really enthusiastic about extending your learning!

Listen to Jack Hartmann’s song about th!

He includes lots of th words in this video. Can you think of anymore?

Th is for thousand. I wonder if you can practise counting all the way up to one thousand. It is very tricky, especially when going over a hundred. Do you think you are able to take on this mathematics challenge?

The th sound is in the middle of the word birthday. Can you hear it? Do you know when your birthday is? If you don’t, try to see if you can learn it. It is important to know the day, month and year of your birthday!

The th sound comes at the end of the word month. Do you know the months in order? I know lots of you have been practising! Try to tell someone at home all twelve months in the correct order. Can you have a go at writing them? Get someone at home to help you with spelling them correctly!

The th sound is in the word athlete. Do you think you could be an athlete? Make sure to take some time to be active this afternoon! Here are some ideas of things you can do at home to be an athlete!

One last th activity for you all to do before bedtime tonight is to make sure to use some toothpaste and a toothbrush and give your teeth a nice clean! Can you make them sparkle and shine? I’m sure you can!

Have a wonderful day, Primary 1, and thank you for all the hard work you are doing and the fabulous pictures of your learning you are posting.
