Thursday Afternoon - Primary 7

Good Afternoon Primary 7 – Have you done any quiet reading today? Just sitting enjoying a book? Take some time to enjoy reading again and use it as a calming or relaxing tool – enjoy!

IDL – Personal Interest Project (PIP)

Today sees the start of a new interdisciplinary topic – the best thing about it is that you get to choose the research and the topic. Just like your research project about a country or in WW2, you can choose what your topic is going to be. Think carefully – what have you always wanted to research and share with the class? It could be the history of gaming or your favourite football team or sport – maybe the ancient Greeks or Egyptians – what about fashion or the importance of education around the world – all about Unicef or another charity helping people – make it personal to you. This can be done over a few weeks –

  1. Take your time to decide on a topic, do a little research first, is there enough information to do a project on this?
  2.  Decide on a format to share your learning – poster/leaflet/powerpoint/sway/film
  3. Start your research – organise your research into categories, this will focus you on each section so you don’t feel overwhelmed
  4. Make clear and concise notes/drawings/pictures
  5. Begin to create your presentation/poster once you have all your information – plan how you will share the information so it looks appealing to the audience – presentation is important!
  6. Check the success criteria of the task – what are you aiming for – be the best you can be !
  7. When you have finished make your presentation to someone at home – send it to me – if you feel confident you could share it at our teams meeting next Friday so others can learn from you
  8. Take your time – this is not a 5 min research task – the more time you put into it the better it will be – be creative and enjoy!

Week 6 & 7 IDL – Personal Interest Project (PIP)

IDL – Transition Task

Around this time you would also be thinking about High School and finding out more about what will be different. This is a fun task for you (the times/teachers and room numbers are made up so don’t worry too much about that) to show you the importance of your timetable – reading for information a key skill at High  School to help you be independent and make the most of your opportunities.

Week 6 – P7 Transition Timetable Activity
