Friday Fun!
Good afternoon Primary 1!
This Monday will be a school holiday, so we will not be posting on your Learning Journals on that day! Below you will find some different activities you can use to keep yourself busy over the long weekend if you wish to take part!
Tuesday 26th May would have been our school sports day! Mrs Ferguson has set you a challenge that might motivate you for some fun sports activities that will be coming your way! Can you create a poster to promote sports day/cheer on the school/your school house? Be as creative as you like! Post your finished posters onto your Learning Journals or on twitter with the hashtag #KPSsportsday
We have been doing some learning about day and night! Can you investigate how our shadow changes at different times of the day? You can take photos, or use chalk to draw around someone’s shadow and measure the length. Can you discuss why you think our shadow changes at different times?
I know lots of you have been reading stories on Oxford Owls! Please continue to log in and read different books at home. After practising the ‘th’ sound this week, can you find and read any ‘th’ words in your book?
I would like you to start to practise counting in multiples. Listen to this song by Scratch Garden to help:
We will start by counting by twos. You miss out every second number while you count. It might take some time to become confident with this! Remember our school values and persevere to reach success!
Here is a story you might like to read at home. It is called The Stay Home Superheroes. It is all about the most important challenge for you just now – staying home. You are all being superheroes just now and we are so very proud of you. I hope you like this story!
Enjoy your long weekend and have lots of fun, P1. We will be back in touch on Tuesday with more fun learning for you!
