Primary 5 - Tuesday 19th May

Good morning Primary 5, I hope you had a relaxing long weekend.

Your work is listed below, but remember our meeting today at 10am.

Literacy

It is the time of year where birds are migrating to Scotland. With spring and summer visitors beginning to return, it’s one of the most exciting times of the year. When we can’t get out to see all our seasonal visitors, we can still appreciate them from home. Do you remember learning about the Scottish wildlife through Wilderness Wars? I have attached an article about Corncrakes and I would like you to make a fact file about them. The article will help you. You might include habitat, diet, how many eggs they lay etc.

Numeracy

A little reminder of coordinates. Draw out your own grid and work out the coordinates of different items you place on your grid. This video will remind you how we use and write down coordinates. You could use two grids to play battleships with someone like we did in class!

Health and Wellbeing

It is Mental Health Awareness Week and it is important to switch off and do things to help your own mental health. Choose two activities from the grid to do each day which will help you to be calm and happy.

Sports Day Poster

Remember Mrs Ferguson’s Sports Day poster task.  She is asking you to design a poster for sports day.  Maybe one for the house you are in i.e. Good Luck Cameron House, or a good luck message for everyone i.e. Hooray for Sports Day, or Good Luck KPS.  When you complete yours can you take a picture and post it on Twitter (use #KPSsportsday) or Teams by Thursday.

Have a good day and I look forward to hearing what you have all been up to at 10am!

Mrs Gillespie
