All About All!
Good afternoon Primary 1!
Please make sure to log back in to your Learning Journals this afternoon as Miss Muir and I are going to be sharing videos of us teaching a new sound! This sound is one we have already learned in class but thought you might need to revisit. It is the Giant All sound!
We thought Giant All would be a great sound to learn this week as it is our Sports Day this week and Giant All comes up in lots of sports games! Can you think of any?
Once you have done this week’s spelling quiz you might want to do some more challenges to practise the all sound. Here are some below in case you are feeling up for it!
- We have been doing some work on measuring at home. Can you find things around your home that are taller and smaller than you? Tall and small are two words with the ‘all’ sound in them. Perhaps you could make a list of these things with the labels ‘tall‘ and ‘small‘ at the top to practise writing these words!
- Fall is a word that Americans use instead of Autumn. Can you remember all four of our seasons? Which season are we in now? Maybe you could listen to this song to practise the different seasons!

- Can you practise your ball skills? How many different ways can you pass a ball to someone at home? Can you create a game to play with a ball and teach someone at home the rules? Try to count up the scores too!
- Can you practise reading the common words on your word walls? Can you see the all sound in the word wall written on your sheet?
If you have a go at any of these activities please remember to share pictures on your Learning Journals and have fun learning all about all!
Have a good day P1,
Miss Calder and Miss Muir
