Wellbeing Wednesday

Good afternoon Primary 1!

As you will know today is Wellbeing Wednesday and we are thinking about being ‘Connected’ this week. One thing that is very important to us in our school is being connected with our feelings. We have learned all about this using our Emotion Works cogs. Can you remember what each one means?

Introducing Emotion Works (featuring child, i feel good, mr jelly)

If you have forgotten, why don’t you take some time this afternoon to look over the above image with an adult and remind yourself of them all.

Here is a lovely story to listen to that is all about feelings.

This story references triggers, emotion words and body sensations. Can you identify them as you listen? This is quite a tricky task so you can maybe pause the video on each page after you listen and discuss it with someone at home. Good luck!

Lots of you were able to share pictures of you participating in our alternative sports day yesterday. Thank you SO much for doing that, Miss Muir and I always love seeing your photos and they made Mrs Ferguson so happy, too! Can you use the emotion works cogs to talk about how taking part in sports day made you feel? If you did a fantastic job with one challenge and then perhaps struggled with the next one, did your body feel different? What different words can you think of to describe your emotions? You might want to use these words to help you.

Feelings and Emotions Words: List of Useful Words to Describe ...

You may need the help of an adult or an older sibling to explain some of these emotion words, but it is very important to build out vocabulary and always try to use new words!

Have a fantastic day, Primary 1, and I hope you are all feeling absolutely wonderful today.
