Literacy:
This morning, before we think about extending our writing let’s warm up with some handwriting. Can you write your first name and surname ( correctly!) and the following sentence ‘ The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog’ three times. (This is a pangram—a sentence that contains all of the letters of the alphabet.)
Read each sentence and notice how each time there is additional information included. The final sentence really helps us to understand what is happening and is the most interesting for us as readers.. Do you agree? Today we would like you to practice s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g sentences and then create a text of your own choice to apply your new skills. Be creative! Remember to include punctuation and check it makes sense before you share it with someone in your household or send it to your teacher.
